Granite State Energy Efficiency (GSE2) is a comprehensive program of The Jordan Institute to plan, implement and evaluate energy performance improvements in all of the state's major building sectors. Its first milestone is to establish New Hampshire as the state with the highest percentage of Energy Star rated schools in the nation by 2012.

The Green Schools Program of the Alliance to Save Energy engages students in creating energy-saving activities in their schools, using hands-on, real-world projects. The program has achieved reductions of energy use of 5 to 15 percent among participating schools.
